“In August 2020, one of the most significant and most devastating natural disasters began to unfold across the Western US. The metaphorical match was light from a series of dry thunderstorms that produced significant lightning, which would spark numerous wildfires in Western US states. These fires would have devastating impacts on the lands they burned and the surrounding areas, as well as the people that lived there and the ecosystems that depended on them.”
